Handcrafted in our Malvern studio, this tennis birthday cake features a fully edible hand-sculpted fondant tennis player figure captured mid-swing – the stance, the reach, the athletic intensity all shaped entirely by hand with the kind of detail that makes a true tennis fan lean in and look twice. The figure stands on a beautifully detailed edible tennis court surface with court lines, a fondant tennis ball and a finish that brings the whole scene to life. The player can be styled to represent any favourite – Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, or customised to look like the birthday person themselves out on the court. Every element is fully edible and fully handmade, right down to the racket in their hand.

At Runaway Cupcakes, we have been creating custom cakes in Melbourne since 2015, and our bakers are Royal Melbourne Show Blue Ribbon winners. Sculpting a figurine in motion – capturing the dynamic energy of an athletic swing rather than a static pose – is one of the most technically challenging things we do. The proportions, the posture, the sense of movement frozen in fondant – it takes genuine skill and artistry to pull off, and the result is something that a tennis fan will genuinely be blown away by.
