🌿 Totoro Birthday Cake Melbourne
Some stories stay with you forever. My Neighbour Totoro is one of those – the gentle magic of the forest, the wonder of childhood, the feeling that something warm and extraordinary is waiting just out of sight. For the person who loves Totoro with their whole heart, this cake is the one that truly honours that feeling.
Handcrafted in our Malvern studio, this two-tier Totoro birthday cake features a fully edible hand-sculpted Totoro figure as the statement centrepiece – his round body, his wide eyes, his gentle expression and all the warmth and character that Studio Ghibli fans instantly recognise and deeply love, shaped entirely by hand from fondant. The two tiers are decorated with the lush, nature-inspired details that bring the world of My Neighbour Totoro to life – forest greens, botanical elements and the soft, whimsical atmosphere that makes this film so completely extraordinary. Each tier can be ordered in a different flavour, and the birthday name and age are personalised into the design to make it completely specific to the person being celebrated.
What Makes This Cake Special
At Runaway Cupcakes, we have been creating custom cakes in Melbourne since 2015, and our bakers are Royal Melbourne Show Blue Ribbon winners. Sculpting Totoro with the right proportions, the right expression and the warmth that makes the character so beloved requires genuine skill and real care for the source material. The finished figure is fully edible and built entirely from scratch – and the reaction from a true Studio Ghibli fan when they see it is completely priceless.
Make It Completely Theirs
Totoro figure style, forest design details, colour palette, name, age and any Studio Ghibli references can all be personalised. Want to add Chibi Totoro, Catbus, Soot Sprites or matching Totoro cupcakes for the whole party? Just tell us.
Example request: “For Mia turning 7 – two-tier Totoro cake with Totoro figure, forest green tones, her name on the base and 15 matching Totoro cupcakes.”
