Handcrafted in our Malvern studio, this Death Star cake is a fully sculpted 3D sphere covered entirely in hand-detailed edible fondant surface panelling — the geometric sections, the superlaser focus lens, the equatorial trench with its dark glitter band — all recreated with the kind of precision that makes a true Star Wars fan stop and stare. It sits on a smooth black base board finished with the birthday name, making it as much a showpiece as it is a celebration cake. The moment it enters the room, the galaxy far, far away suddenly feels a lot closer.

At Runaway Cupcakes, we’ve been creating custom cakes in Melbourne since 2015, and our bakers are Royal Melbourne Show Blue Ribbon winners.
